Case Studies - Castle Sewing Centre
The Beginning
When Castle Sewing first contacted iias in 2000, they were a
small, one-store family business from Surrey, BC that specialized in
sewing and quilting. Castle Sewing had a website, but they were having
trouble accessing it to manage updates. They asked iias to transfer
their website to our server and make changes to it that would facilitate
easy maintenance.
iias was happy to help Castle Sewing, providing the services they
requested within a week. We explained exactly how the update tools
worked and provided support as necessary. Castle Sewing also requested
email for their employees; iias was able to provide this service easily.
The Process
After a solid working relationship was established, Castle Sewing
asked iias to design a new website. Castle Sewing realized how important
the Internet is to their clients and wanted to have a bigger impact
through a stronger online presence. iias worked with Castle Sewing to
design a website that had all the functionality Castle Sewing required,
but was simple enough to allow Castle Sewing to make regular updates.
The design process followed our standard procedure. Through iterative
designs and constant communication, iias created a design
that was what Castle Sewing requested. We used our knowledge of the
Internet and combined it with their knowledge of sewing to establish a
website that is an excellent point of contact for Castle Sewing's
customers.
From the beginning, iias realized that Castle Sewing was a special case.
iias understood how they worked and their desire to use the Internet for
business, but also realized that they were on a modest budget because
they were a small family business. We worked hard to provide the level
of service our clients have come to expect, maintaining open
communication and ensuring trust.
The Successes
Since 2000, Castle Sewing has had nothing but positive
experiences, expanding into two Country Folk stores in Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
They now send regular newsletters to clients and offer
online specials. They present a full online catalogue of the machines
they carry in their stores and use their website to explain their
longstanding history as a specialized sewing store. Castle Sewing views
their website as a way to stay in touch and communicate with customers.
It allows customers to browse products and conduct research at home,
empowering them to make an informed decision.
The End Result
Just because Castle Sewing is a small business doesn't mean they
have to have a small web presence. Castle Sewing uses their website to
provide support for their clients. Their website supplies a more
personal touch than a phone book advertisement, and shows their
dedication to being a good service provider. iias has continued to help
Castle Sewing serve their customers, and Castle Sewing has continued to
use iias to provide the growth they look for on the Internet.
