Case Studies - Robertson, Downe & Mullally

The Beginning
The era of technology is here. Any business will excel by embracing technology, and the firm of Robertson, Downe & Mullally (RDM) is no exception. Although RDM was already a leading law firm in Abbotsford when they approached iias in 2003, they realized the importance of a high quality, functional website to attract & keep in touch with clients.

When RDM came to iias they already had a website, but it was small, simple and outdated. They asked iias to develop a new corporate website that would profile the firm's lawyers, explain their areas of practice and provide helpful information to clients. This is what iias does best.

The Process
To create the framework for RDM's site, we used our standard design & feedback process. We also learned a lot about how law works. RDM asked iias to create all of the content for their site in addition to the design. In order to create a comprehensive website, our development team took the time to research everything that was related to what RDM does and how it functions, and we double-checked all content with the team at RDM.

Due to the extensive research required, iias developed a publishing process that allowed for new sections to be added to RDM's site as they were completed. The main body of the site required only four months of development, but the Wills & Estates section – the most comprehensive part of RDM's site – was not published until late 2004.

The Successes
Even though Robertson, Downe & Mullally was already a well-established firm, the website iias created for RDM has helped their team to grow and has helped many new & existing clients. RDM has recently added two more lawyers to its team, allowing a further expansion of its client base & areas of practice.

RDM has also asked iias to create two more sites since 2003 – a personal injury settlement information and answers site, and a corporate transitions site to explain how the “Business Corporations Act” affects companies in British Columbia and how this act replaces the old “Company Act.” Both of these sites provide useful information for RDM's clients and help attract new clients. Furthermore, iias is working in conjunction with RDM to develop a Punjabi language site based on existing content. The first phase of translations is now complete.

The End Result
Very simply, iias has helped RDM to become an even higher profile firm than it was in 2003, when RDM first contacted us. We have helped increase RDM's client base and have provided help for many of their clients. We have also increased the knowledge base of the team at iias by learning about RDM and their practices.
