Windows Vista Update
In our last
newsletter we cautioned against a hasty upgrade to Microsoft’s
newest operating system, Windows Vista. We had heard (and
experienced) some negative feedback on the initial release and
recommended that users hold off until a few of the bugs have
been worked out.
It seems that the
time has come. While it is still not necessary for Windows XP
owners to upgrade to Windows Vista, if you are currently using
XP and happen to buy a new machine with Vista pre-loaded, it’s
really not bad, as our Chief Technical Officer, James just
discovered with his new computer purchase.
Overall, it is
“prettier” and has a few noteworthy features. Thumbnails for
photos, for example, can be bigger and parental controls are
enhanced.
Since his purchase
James hasn’t found any software that is incompatible, which was
one of the early complaints; it also seems quite competent with
the games he plays.
If you are thinking
of upgrading, though, make sure your PC has a higher-end
processor (CPU), lots of RAM and a good quality video card to
support the additional features in Windows Vista.
Customer Testimonial “Just wanted to let you know how
pleasant it has been working with IIAS through this... project.
I will certainly be back to you as other projects come along.”
