Domain Registry Scams
Don’t Be Fooled By This Junk Mail!
This is an image of what appears to be an invoice requiring payment to renew your domain name(s). Although it does state “This notice is not a bill,” the rest of the letter certainly makes it seem like you will lose your domain if you don’t send payment, and they lead you to believe that their prices are a great deal. What they are actually trying to do is steal you away from your current registrar at a premium price! This company has had numerous complaints filed against it with the Better Business Bureau.
As an iias customer, you can rest assured that we keep close track of all of your domain renewal dates, and will invoice you at the appropriate time. All of our registrations and renewals are processed through
tucows, a reputable Canadian registrar. The cost of top level domains for one year is $45, considerably less than what Domain Registry of Canada is charging.
